Vicki Rae (Runyon) Potter, 75, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Vicki Rae Runyon was born on June 15, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa; she was the daughter of Howard Dale and Lorraine (Issacson) Runyon. Vicki attended school in the Des Moines Public School District graduating with the North High Class of 1963. She was united in marriage to Duane Twining in Des Moines, Iowa and were blessed with two children, Caryn and Ryan. They later divorced. Vic had worked in the Food and Beverage Industry her entire working career, first at Plaza Lanes for 15 years and then Hyperion Field Club until 2010. She loved her job and all the people she was around, and they loved her also as she was called “MOM” by many. She will be remembered for always making people feel good about themselves and everyone said they were so blessed to have her as a friend. She enjoyed gardening, her family, and her constant companion, her dog Jo Jo.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Caryn Cay Twining and Ryan Lee Twining both of Des Moines, Iowa; grandson, Justin M Twining of Urbandale; sister, Connie J. Runyon and her 3 children: Karle, Derek and Chris; brother, Howard O “Bud” O.(Sheri) Runyon Jr and their 2 children, Bradly and Traci.
In death she rejoins her parents, Howard and Lorraine Runyon and niece, Laurie Ann Speck Emory.
