Sherry Dalrymple

Sherry Dalrymple, born August 22, 1939, in Winterset, Iowa, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 6, 2026, at Westview Care Center in Indianola.

Sherry graduated from Winterset High School in 1957. On January 6, 1977, she married Grant Dalrymple, who was the love of her life.

Sherry was an accomplished executive secretary and worked for Continental Western for many years. She also enjoyed working at Diamond Jacks during the Iowa State Fair for many years. While she took pride in her accomplishments throughout her working life, her greatest accomplishment and source of pride was her family.

Sherry is survived by her niece, Sherry; nephew, Dan; children, Curt, Connie, and Kent; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and husband, Grant.

Sherry received wonderful care from the staff at Westview Care Center and treated those who cared for her like family. Her roommate, Nancy, became a dear friend. The family also extends heartfelt thanks to Suncrest Hospice for their prompt response, compassion, and care.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday the 12^th at 10:30 a.m., all at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.
