Our beloved Sharon D. Jellue left this world on January 5, 2026, at the age of 30, due to domestic violence. Sharon was born on July 9, 1995, to parents Morris and Comfort Jellue in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where she lived until the age of eight. On December 6, 2003, she relocated with her family to Des Moines, Iowa.
Â
Sharon received her education in the Des Moines Public School District, attending Greenwood Elementary School and Callanan Middle School, and graduating from Roosevelt High School. She had the biggest heart and always saw the good in others, constantly going above and beyond to ensure those around her were happy. Sharon had a way of brightening every room she entered with her warm, radiant smile.
Â
She deeply loved her family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them. Above all, her greatest love was her son, Sharenton, now 11 years old, who made her a mother and was the center of her world.
Â
Sharon aspired to become a nurse and was actively pursuing this goal. At the time of her passing, she was enrolled in the nursing program at Des Moines Area Community College and was employed as a caregiver at Bishop Drumm.
Â
Sharon is survived by her son Sharenton; Her parents Morris and Comfort Jellue; Her siblings Eve, Lewis, Lawson, Melvin, Dezhzio, Monica and Monyou; Her nieces and nephews, uncles, aunties, and friends that loved her dearly.
Â
Her presence brought warmth and light to every space she entered, and her welcoming smile left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her physical presence is gone, but her memory will forever live in our heart.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Service details below.
