Sandra Kay Jackson of Des Moines, IA was born to Drexel C. & Mary Margaret (Bird) Jackson on October 31, 1949. She departed this earth suddenly on September 29, 2021, of heart failure. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She attended Des Moines area schools & graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967. She worked for a series of companies from IMT insurance, Greyhound, KVI/Marsh and retired in 2014.
Sandra was involved in many church activities and enjoyed teaching Sunday school and VBS.
She was active in two Red Hat Clubs and NTW Club for more than 30 years.
Sandra enjoyed many interests and hobbies, such as ceramics, antiquing, reading, movies, cooking and was a HUGE IOWA HAWKEYE FAN!! Most of all, she adored spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter; Kelly (Victor) Johnson of Katy, TX and son; Robert (Heather) Sherer of Urbandale, IA, 3 grandsons; Jacob, Jackson and Kolby all from TX, one granddaughter; Savannah of Virginia, 1 great-grandson; James David, her siblings; Karla (Duane) Lass and Andy (Judy) Grovo. She had many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends as well.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 8301 Aurora, Urbandale, Iowa 50322. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. also at the church.
