Ruth Nyagicondo

Updated: Oct 3

Ruth Nyagicondo was born on January 1, 1940, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A devoted wife, mother and woman of faith, Ruth lived a life marked by resilience, service, and unwavering devotion to God. She passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at approximately 5:30 am, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ruth was married to Runezerwa Stephan and together they were blessed with four children. A baptized Christian at Murudabagiza in Congo, Ruth lived out her faith with deep commitment and was always active in the church.

During the turmoil of war in her homeland, Ruth fled to Burundi, where she found refuge and continued to lean on her faith. In 2018, she and her grandkids immigrated to the United States, settling in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they lived for the past seven years. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where she lived for eight months.

Ruth was a faithful member of Redeemed Fellowship Center Church, attending all services and participating actively in the life of the congregation. Her presence, encouragement, and dedication were a blessing to many.

Ruth's life was a testimony of endurance, faith, and love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church community, and all who had the privilege to know her.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. You will be missed, remembered with love.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
