Randy “Arkansas” Meckler 37 passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home.


Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. also at the Merle Hay Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Family to be designated at a later date. Randy Alan Meckler was born on January 19, 1983, in Jefferson, Iowa; he was the son of Rick Sloth and Tammi (Rodger) Caquelin ; Randy attended school in Arkansas at Henderson High School graduating with the class of 2001 and then attended College at the Henderson Community College. On October 31, 2019, Randy was united in marriage to Amanda Martinez at McCrea Park in Des Moines, Iowa and they made their home in Des Moines, Iowa. Randy had worked at Route 65 Harley Davidson in Indianola, Iowa. He enjoyed motorcycles and pool, but his family was especially important to him. Randy knew everyone, he had a fun personality that everyone loved and had a contagious smile.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Amanda, children, James and Abbigayle Horner, parents, Rick (Merrie Ann) Sloth, Tammi( Rodger) Caquelin , grandpas, Leonard Meckler and Dale Sloth, siblings, Ryan (Malinda) Caquelin, Jeremy (Amanda) Caquelin, Bryan Sloth, and Kevin (Krista} Sloth.

In death Randy rejoins his grandmother, Beverly Meckler, great-grandmother, Marjorie Kline
