Phyllis was born on August 21, 1937, to parents Jesse and Clara German in Des Moines, IA. She was a high school graduate of Woodside High School. After high school she met and married the love of her life Delbert on December 10, 1955, the couple had six children together. Phyllis was an old fashion homemaker who never worked outside the home and never drove a car.

Phyllis was a woman of God and loved family. She would always open her door to anyone in need. In addition to her family, she looked after extended family members who needed help. As well as her compassionate side she also was not afraid to speak her mind and was strong willed. Although she was small in stature, her spirit was mighty. She was an avid dog lover and had many fur babies over the years. Cricket and Lucky will continue living with her daughter Pam. After Delbert retired the couple enjoyed 17 years together and spent a great deal of time going to Thrift Stores, they both loved a good find. She had a special passion for antique dishes, but her family was her real treasure.

Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at the Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA where she will be reunited with her husband Delbert.
