Paul Eugene Durnin, 63, of Des Moines passed away on June 28, 2022. Paul was born on September 28, 1958 to his parents Marvin Eugene and Geraldine Lois (Brown) Durnin. Paul worked as a carpet cleaner for over 25 years, ending his work life at his business Hot Rod Taxi by being a taxi chauffer, in which he loved doing so much with all the antique cars. Most of all he enjoyed going boating on the lakes, rock concerts, and relaxing with his feet up in Jamaica.
Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his wife Melody Marie (Warman) Durnin; daughter Tina (Chris) Ortman and their children Mick and Ryne; son Chad Durnin and his children Isabella and Colby; 3 siblings, Gary, Lonna, and 1 other sister. Paul rejoins his parents.

Paul and I want to thank the South Side EMTs and firemen that helped him at home the last few years. Picking him up off the floor, getting him in and out of the house, lifting his spirits. They were all so kind, funny, helpful and so respectful of all Paul was going through. Also want to thank Jeanne from aging resources, for all her help, her support for me and always having kind words. The electric wheelchair she helped Paul get was such a great gift. It helped him have some independence and mobility these last few months. Thank you all so much.
