Patricia Ann Smith

Patricia Ann Smith, 73, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the Altoona Nursing & Rehab Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 23, 1951, at Boone Hospital in Boone, Iowa, and throughout her life she remained devoted to her family, her work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

A loving mother and grandmother, Patricia, was known for her strength, her dedication, and her generous heart. As a hardworking single mother, she built a meaningful career at Wells Fargo, where she retired after many years in the escrow research department. Beyond work, Patricia cherished time spent with family and found joy in hobbies such as puzzles, board games and especially her love of fishing. Trips to Canada were among her favorite memories, and Christmas was the holiday she treasured most. Her grandchildren were her world, and she poured her heart into each of them.

Patricia leaves behind her daughter, Tina; two grandsons, Brandon Byal and his wife, Taylor, and Hunter Byal and his wife, Ann. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Tilley; father, Raymond Tilley; sisters, Pamela Cook and Gloria Curtis; and brother, Steven Tilley.

There will be a celebration of life held on Sunday, December 14^th at 2 pm at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel.   She will be laid to rest at the Avon Cemetery.
