Marijane “Jane” Felse

Marijane “Jane” Felse, 101, passed away from natural causes August 3, 2026, while proudly living independently in her own home.

Jane was born April 1, 1925, to RuthThelma and Raymond Maxwell in Louisville, Kentucky.  The family moved to Iowa in 1930, and she spent the rest of her life in Des Moines.  In 1942 she married Richard (Dick) Felse and they spent 70 happy years together until his passing in 2012.     

Jane is survived by their daughter Susan Pencoske of Great Falls, Montana, granddaughter Kelly Olson (Neal Rubino) of Tracy, Montana, 3 nieces and a nephew. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son-in-law, two sisters and her brother.

Retired from a career in administrative office work, she enjoyed traveling, walking, reading and spending time with her family, friends and pets.  She remained active at her community center, attending weekly exercise and yoga classes and continued driving until she was nearly 100 years old.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a good friend to many.  She will be remembered for her wit, generosity, and steadfast determination to remain active and independent.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
