Maizie, 84, passed away on September 16, 2020. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, September 22 at Merle Hay Funeral Home. Maizie Arlene Janssen was born May 23, 1936 near Lamont, Iowa to Otto and Laura (Blanche) Linderwell. An Urbandale resident for over 50 years, she was a longtime active member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and a dedicated volunteer at Living History Farms. Maizie was a passionate gardener, and was proud of the family's Heritage farm. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and always had treats available for guests. Maizie spent the last year of her life at Journey Senior Living where she enjoyed the community and care she received. Maizie is lovingly remembered by her children Gale (Mike) Huth and Craig (Betzy) Janssen. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brandon (Cierra) Huth, Breanna (Kielan) Sullivan, Marcus and Trevor Janssen, and her one great-grandchild: Cavanaugh Huth. Maizie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Carl; her parents; and three brothers: Lewis in infancy, Howard, and Allen.
