Loretta Chai Tarlue

It is with great sadness that the Tarlue family and the Henderson family along with the Liberian Community in Des Moines, Iowa announce the sudden passing of their wife, mother, daughter and sister, Loretta Chai Tarlue on Saturday, September 12, 2020.


Loretta will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Zarkpa Tarlue and their precious children, Milton (9) Cataleya (7), Zain (4) and Matilda (2). Loretta will also be fondly remembered by her father Van Gikoi Henderson and her stepmother Cecelia Henderson, her grandfather Rev. Tom N. Henderson, her mother-in-Law Nancy Z Tarlue along with the Tarlue family and by her Siblings, Jessie Henderson, Peter Collins, Moses Jarbo, Precious Marshall (Lucia), Jimmilee Henderson, Destiny Henderson (Ophelia) and Ben Dweh, many uncles, aunties, in-laws and life-long friends.


Loretta was predeceased by her mother Koloju Jumbo.


Loretta is originally from Liberia, West Africa but grew up in Chicago Illinois where she graduated from South Shore High School. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa where spent the rest of life.


Face mask is required at all events and Social distance is highly encouraged!


Celebration of life in memory of Loretta will be as follows:

· Visitation on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm,
