Lisa Ann Matson, age 56, passed away at Mercy West Lakes Medical Center on January 20, 2021 after battling multiple medical conditions.
A native of Kansas, Lisa made Iowa her home in 2003. After a 30 plus year career at Wells Fargo, Lisa retired in 2016 in order to enjoy more of the activities she loved. Lisa cherished and loved kids and was willing to help friends and family with anything they needed in support of children.
She had a very calming presence with small children and was able to make people laugh. In addition, Lisa enjoyed puzzling, cross word puzzles/word search puzzles, camping and attending NASCAR races. As an avid Nebraska Cornhusker, Lisa would cheer on her team in both victory and defeat.
Lisa is survived by her significant other, David M Elmore Jr (Marty) of Grimes, IA, sister, Brenda Henke of Osborne, KS, brother, Jim Adams of Manhattan, KS, brother, John Adams of Wamego, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Merle Hay Funeral Home Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Road Des Moines. A private memorial service and inurnment will take place in Ellsworth, KS at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances and memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Iowa.
