La Lemthi was born on March 5th of 1942 in Banh Nong Nai, Muang Mua Son La, Vietnam to the late Heo Cathi (Mother) and Hou Cavan (Father) She was the youngest of her four siblings, three sisters and one brother. Three sisters preceded her in death, Heo Cathi, Liend Cathi, and Khau Cathi and one surviving brother Kat Cavan in Son La, Vietnam
She was married to the late Giene Lemvan for 60 plus years and together they have 9 children, Kiet Lovan (Doan), Chan Lemthi (Lamphone), Inh Lothi (Song), Nancy Lovan (Som), Deng Lemvan, Huong Lemvan (Sue), Toi Baccam (Say), Senglao Lemthi (Sak), and Hac Lemvan. In total she has 24 grandkids and 15 great grandkids.
In March of 1981 they migrated to Des Moines, Iowa. La worked at Parr Manufacturing since 1991 and retired in 2005. In her spare time she loved to garden, shop, travel, cook and especially spend time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
A visitation will be held on October 3rd, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Chapel on Fleur Drive at 1 PM with services following at 2 PM.
