Judy Elaine Turck

Judy Elaine Turck, 74, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025.

Born on July 28, 1950, in Marathon, Iowa, to Harold and Katherine Peterson, Judy was a proud graduate of Marathon High School, Class of 1968. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose infectious laugh and love of coffee could brighten any room.

Judy was a passionate Chicago Cubs fan and never missed a chance to cheer on her team. She worked for more than 15 years at Pioneer Hi-Bred, where her dedication and spirit left a lasting impression on colleagues.

In 1995, Judy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a battle she faced with remarkable strength and grace for over 30 years.

She is survived by her daughters Tanya (Mike) Rosenberger and Toni Turck; her beloved grandchildren Tyler Hogate, Olivia Hogate, and Lilly Reynolds; and great-granddaughter Freya Hogate. She also leaves behind her brother Brian (Judy) Peterson, one niece, six nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Katherine Peterson, and her brother, Mike Peterson.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

The family extends special thanks to the wonderful staff and her cherished friends at Harmony in West Des Moines for their loving care and companionship.
