Heidi Scuffham, 57, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
She was born on April 19, 1966, in Des Moines, IA, to Clarence Claude Cassler and Alice (Doherty) Cassler. Heidi married David Scuffham on August 11, 2001, in Des Moines, IA.
Surviving are her husband David Scuffham, son Henry Scuffham, brother Mike (Kim Miller) Cassler, sister Theresa Cassler, step-father Harlan Gene Alexander, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother David Cassler, father Clarence Cassler, and Mother Alice Alexander.
Heidi worked at the Addiction Recovery Center at Proctor Hospital until her death and was proud of her over 40 years of sobriety. She enjoyed spending time with family, watching movies, and traveling. Heidi was loved and will be missed by many. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Merle Hay Chapel, 4400 Merle Hay Rd Des Moines, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3300 Easton Blvd in Des Moines, IA. Burial of cremated remains will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Stuart, IA. A celebration of life hike will take place at Forest Park in Peoria Heights, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Illinois Cancer Care in Peoria, IL.
