GENE ALLEN HILDRETH

Gene went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loved ones on April 9th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gene was born October 17th, 1953 to Glen and Daisy (Tyler) Hildreth. Growing up he attended Waukee schools from 1965 to 1970 and graduated from Interstate 35 schools in 1972. After Graduation Gene became a member of the U.S. NAVY in 1972 and was Honorably Discharged in 1974.

In November of 1974 Gene married Cynthia Kohrs and to this union 2 children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1979 Gene married Louise Finan and to this union Jennifer Marie was born in 1981. The couple later divorced. In 1987 Gene met Sally “Renee” Williams and they welcomed Regina Renee in November of 1988. The couple later married April 1, 2003 and later divorced. In February of 2014 Gene took Cynthia Schnoor on their first date and they later married October 22, 2022.

Gene was quite the Jokester and funny man!! If you get the chance ask Cyndy or Regina about “Hardcore Hildreth”!! Gene was a huge family man and loved every minute he got to spend with them especially since his cancer diagnosis in 2022! His Grandchildren were his EVERYTHING besides his Harley and beloved dog Buffy! As Gene’s cancer grew so did his relationship with his savior Jesus Christ.

Left to cherish his memory are his love of his life Cyndy Schnoor-Hildreth, Daughters Jennifer Hildreth, Regina (Danny) Weber, Son Tyler (Amber) Fetters, Stepson Justin (Cindy) Harvey, 20 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Sister Susan (Dan) Peterson, Brothers Glenn Hildreth, Marshall Hildreth, Monte (Linda) Hildreth, and MANY nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends! And Special nurse Tiffany!

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Daisy, daughter Heather Hildreth, Son Tad Fetters, Grandson Trevor Fetters, and stepdaughters Paige and Erin Harvey, sister-in-law Dianne Hildreth

A celebration of life is being planned for May 11th, 2024 at the Capital City Moose Lodge where Gene was a member!

Psalm 121 “I lift my eyes to the hills; from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and earth.” In times of trial and challenge – in times of grief and loss – we are called to lift our eyes to God – for He is our help; our hope, and our strength.
