DeWayne Gary Snyder, 82, passed away on August 30, 2022, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6th from 10 to 11:30 AM at Brooks Funeral Care. Burial will take place after the visitation at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
DeWayne was born to Lester and Gwen (Morgan) Snyder on October 2, 1939, in Iowa. He was raised in the Grimes area. Met and married Glendyne Stepp Sept 12, 1958. They eventually settled in a little neighborhood south of Johnston called Dogpatch. There they raised 2 daughters and made lifelong friends.
DeWayne was a skilled painter his whole life. He started traveling the Midwest and some southern states painting Watertowers. A serious accident transitioned him to somewhat safer groundwork. He opened DG Snyder interiors in the mid 80's until retirement in 2007.
DeWayne enjoyed cooking and baking. He had many hobbies throughout the years such as camping, bowling and motorcycle riding.
DeWayne is preceded in death by his wife, Glendene Snyder; his sister Karen Hunt and his daughter Terry Mather
DeWayne is survived by his daughter, Tina (Larry) Carroll , grandchildren Heather(Seward) and Christopher Guthrie, Tom Gates, Anna, Kaylan, Trinity and Sara Garrick. Great grandchildren Payton Farrell, Payton and Damian Gates and William Guthrie.
