Deborah Hutchinson, 69, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa after an 18-month battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Hawkeye attire is welcomed and encouraged.

Deborah Kay Toye was born on September 1, 1952, in Mankato, Minnesota; she was the daughter of Wesley and Martha (Morrison) Toye. She attended school in the Des Moines Public School District and graduated from Saydel High School in 1970. Debbie was united in marriage to Ronald Hutchinson, and they later divorced but remained friends. She had worked and retired from Child Serve as a secretary and account specialist after 43 years of service. Debbie loved her Hawkeyes, was an avid visitor at Highland Bakery, she enjoyed the summers at their Clear Lake cabin, her cats, Court TV, Netflix, reading a good book and she always enjoyed watching Michael Jordon and the Bulls.
Left to cherish her memory is her son; Jordan Tanner Hutchinson (Brianna Miller), siblings; Susan (Richard) Den Otter of Pleasant Hill, Aaron Toye of Minnesota, and Shelley (Tom) Ford of Grimes, nieces, and nephew; Mindy (Joe) Ciprian, Tami (Wesley) Smeal and Tug (Jamie) Den Otter and special significant member of the family, Judy Toye.
In death Debbie rejoins her parents, Wesley, and Martha Toye.
