Chieko passed away peacefully at Courtyard Estates, Bondurant, IA on February 4, 2023. Born in Tokyo, Japan on January 16, 1930, to Skjei and Kimiko Tsumanuma. The eldest of nine children.
Preceded in death by her father, mother, beloved husband: Silas Boyce and grandson: Ryan O’Connor. Survived by a son: Joji (Priscilla) Boyce of Statesville, NC, a daughter: Barbara (Lawrence Schram) Boyce of Winterset, IA, grandchildren: Tony, Kimilla, Shawn, Terry and Erin, great-grandchildren: Brianna, Tayven, Angelina, Haley, James, Jillian, Devin, Austin, Josie, Collin and Maddox, great-great-grandchild: Livy.
She loved cake decorating. She had a great passion for bowling, she was a bronze medal winner in the Iowa Games.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #398, 315 2nd St., N.W., Bondurant, IA 50035.
